Dr. Jane Dora Alumira is a seasoned social scientist with over three decades of Socioeconomic Research for Development and Training. She holds PhD and Masters Degrees in Agricultural Extension from the University of Reading, UK and a Bachelors Degree in Food Science and Technology from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. She currently is domiciled in Nairobi, Kenya.
Dr Alumira is a Senior International Consultant in Agriculture and Socio-economics and focuses on project benchmarks, programme development, project implementation, project evaluations, agricultural training and capacity building, gender analysis, disaster risk reduction in arid and semi-arid areas, integration of cross-cutting issues mainly health (HIV & AIDS), nutrition and climate change in programmes and projects. Her experience spans sub-Saharan Africa particularly, East Africa; Southern Africa covering the whole of Southern Africa Development Community (SADC); West Africa and; the Horn of Africa. Jane has worked as a long term and short-term consultant on Donor-funded projects and the United Nations. She has worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Reading in the UK and a lecturer at Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology, Kenya. She has worked with rural households as an agricultural extension officer and in Research-Extension liaison, thus bridging the divide between Research and Development. Presently Dr Alumira is the Chair, Hamuyundi Foundation Incorporated (HFI), a humanitarian NGO registered in Kenya.
Dr. Alumira’s passion for HFI stems from her upbringing on a smallholder farm in Hamuyundi Village, a rural area in Kenya. Her professional background aligns with the Foundation’s mission to address agriculture, food and nutrition security and gender and health and related issues affecting rural livelihoods. She believes in achieving both short term and long-term goals to create lasting impact. She emphasises the importance and necessity of setting specific measurable, attainable, relevant and time-based (SMART) goals. She acknowledges that challenges may arise, but success will come from team work involving the HFI Board of Directors, the technical staff and support personnel.

Mr. Ernest Amiani Najoli is a seasoned expert in the field of social science, boasting over three decades of experience in socioeconomic research for development and training. As a Senior International Consultant in Agriculture and Socio-economics, Najoli specializes in areas such as project benchmarks, program development, implementation, evaluations, agricultural training, gender analysis, disaster risk reduction, and cross-cutting issues, including health, nutrition, and climate change.
Secretary & Executive Board Member
Beauttah Ingata Is A multi skilled professional with a vast background in Project Management, IT, Farming, Livestock Rearing, Agriculture, The Health sector as well as The Drone Industry. He has a total of 7 years’ experience managing multiple projects in Nairobi, Laikipia, Vihiga and Narok County. He undertook his elementary and secondary education in Hamuyundi Sublocation in Vihiga County and proceeded to pursue IT at Zetech University in Nairobi, Kenya.
Over the years, he has served at the helm of various organizational settings in Kenya such as the Managing Director of Siron Medical Centre, a Dialysis based level 3B Medical facility operating in Nairobi County, The CEO of Sonetarc Africa Limited, a Technology Consultancy Firm operating in 10 Counties in Kenya, An IT Consultant for both Lema Laboratories and ACTs Business Systems Limited.
Currently, Beauttah is the sitting Secretary and Executive Board Member of Hamuyundi Foundation, a Non-Profit, Non-Governmental Organization, Registered and operating in Kenya with a focus to promoting access to quality education, clean water, clean energy, ICT Services, Quality Health Care and Agriculture/Economic Solutions.
Treasurer & Executive Board Member
Andrew K. Mbaya is a highly experienced professional in accounting, auditing, and taxation with an MBA and certifications as a CPA and CPS. His career began as a lecturer at the Kenya School of Government, where he played a key role in enhancing the expertise of government officers in accounting, auditing, and taxation. From there, he joined a Horticultural Cooperative Union as Chief Accountant, later becoming the CEO.
In these positions, he oversaw accounting, financial statements, and provided financial advice to the Board. He also handled production, marketing, HR, and international operations. In 1979, he founded MBAYA & ASSOCIATES, offering comprehensive services in accounting, auditing, taxation, and business advisory until 2019.
He has held director and chairman positions in multiple limited liability companies. Besides his professional work, he engaged in tea cultivation, horticulture, and cattle farming. He has conducted audits and consultancy assignments in various African countries, gaining international exposure. He has also traveled extensively, gaining global business insights.
Although retired, he remains involved in advisory and consultancy roles at MBAYA & ASSOCIATES. He is honored to serve in DODFI, sharing his experience and mentoring young professionals. Contributing to the growth of the accounting profession is his privilege, and he looks forward to positively impacting DODFI’s endeavors.

Mr. Edwin Aldrin Adenya is a Land and Water Management Consultant with over 18 years field experience; working with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization of the United Nations (UNESCO). He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Agricultural Education and Extension, from Egerton University in Kenya. His post graduate training includes Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), Water Exploration (WATEX) tools and the Groundwater Navigation and Exploration System (GENS), Water Sanitation and Hygiene for Development and Emergencies and Groundwater mapping. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Science degree in Land and Water Management.
He has participated in both humanitarian and resilience building projects in Africa. Through implementing Farmer Field Schools programmes in Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Namibia and South Sudan, he has developed competences in agro biodiversity, conservation agriculture, regenerative agriculture, landscape restoration and ecosystems management. Mr. Adenya has been training on circular (zero waste), green (renewable energy), blue (effective use of water) and digital technologies as pertains to Farmer business schools and value chain development.
Mr. Adenya is affiliated to the following professional organizations; the Kenya Field Schools Coordination Unit (KFSCU), the Kenya Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (KEFAAS), the Africa Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (AFAAS), Rural Water Supply Network (RWSN) / Skat Foundation, Kenya Water Industry Association (KWIA), Information Advisory and Resource Centre (IARC), WASH Alliance in Kenya, GIZ Agripreneur Programme and the Global Farmers Field Schools Resource Network (GFFSRN). Mr. Adenya has published peer reviewed papers with the Water Engineering and Development Centre (WEDC) of Loughborough University in the United Kingdom and various thematic topics in the media. He has contributed greatly to various publications with FAO, UNICEF, IIRR and RWSN.
He is a member of the technical advisory team for The Bondo Community Development Programme, MkulimaYoung (www.mkulimayoung.com), M-Advisory Africa (http://madvisoryafrica.com ) and the Eastern Africa Field Schools Hub www.eafieldschools.net. He is a board member of Hamuyundi Foundation Inc.

Prof. Levi M. Musalia is an employee of Tharaka University currently serving as the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration, Finance, Planning & Development) and Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences and Natural Resources Management. He is a Professor of Animal Nutrition and before, he worked in Chuka University (2010-2019), Egerton University (1988-2010). Prior to this he worked as a veterinary research officer in the Ministry of Livestock Development from 1981 to 1988. He holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (University of Nairobi, 1981), Master of Science in Animal Nutrition (University of Aberdeen, 1985) and PhD in Animal Nutrition (The Indian Veterinary Research Institute Deemed University, 1994).
He is a veterinarian by profession registered with the Kenya Veterinary Board (Reg. No. 1507). He has 35 years of teaching and training at University level and has served on a number of University Committees at different levels. Over this period, he acquired skills in development and review of curriculum; student mentorship and supervised postgraduate students He has over 42 years of experience in animal health, Production and Nutrition Research and Development and climate smart farming with a proven tract of designing and implementing research projects including training research projects proposals writing. He has won 9 research grants and published 45 papers in refereed Journals, 5 refereed book chapters, 1 book and participated in several local and international workshops.
In some of these projects he partnered with international and regional institutions like University of Reading, UK, Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania, Makerere University, Uganda; Institut des Sciences Agronomiques du Rwanda (ISAR), Rwanda; Institut des Sciences Agronomiques du Burundi (ISABU), Burundi. Locally he has worked with local Institutions like Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization, Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology and Meru University of Science and Technology in various research activities. In addition to his current leadership position of Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor, he has served as a dean (10 years), chairman of department (4 years) and officer in-Charge Maseno Veterinary Research Station (2 years).

Dr. Sankale Shompole is a multifaceted individual with achievements spanning veterinary research to entrepreneurship. He began his academic journey at the University of Nairobi, earning a BVM in Veterinary Medicine. Later, he furthered his studies at Washington State University, Pullman, securing an MSc in Hemoparasitology and a PhD in Immunoparasitology.
Dr. Shompole's notable research contributions encompass research on hemoparasites, development of subunit vaccines and exploring host-pathogen interactions. He served as a Research Scientist at institutions like the University of Idaho Department of Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Microbiology, and Washington State University Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology. Early in his career he headed the Biotechnology Research Laboratory at the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute.
On the entrepreneurial front, Dr. Shompole established the Glenhaven Adult Family Homes LLC in the USA to cater to the elderly. Founded NOKEA (Northwest Kenyans Association), a welfare and investment organizations in the State Washington. In Kenya, he founded businesses such as Enkong'u Enterprises Ltd which innovates in areas like internet bandwidth distribution, use of Smart Water ATM technology and limestone mining, Santa Lucia Schools, www.Sokohewani.com Multivendor Portal an online marketplace and www.squeakafrica.com a worldwide online business listing directory.
In terms of community leadership, Dr. Shompole serves as a Director of the Hamuyundi Foundation and program leader for TANAKA Pastoralists Solutions in Kenya. These organizations emphasize initiatives from water provision, land regeneration to economic empowerment for farmers and pastoralist communities. Furthermore, his visionary approach led to the founding of the Diaspora University Town in Taita Taveta in Kenya, exemplifying his dedication to education and development.
